Celina Stephens, 39. Skin Concern: Melasma. Protocol: Signature Laser Facial.

I have been dealing with melasma since around 2019. It kept showing up in dark patches across my forehead, the orbital area around my eyes, over my lips, my chin, and my cheeks too. I had seen a dermatologist and she prescribed me a few topical treatments without any positive results.

It was pretty hard for me and felt like a problem I would have to endure forever. I tend to be a positive person and the melasma came at a time where it was crushing to my spirit. It was hard to look in the mirror, to smile at myself, and to feel beautiful. I had always considered myself a beautiful woman. I had good skin for the longest time.

Confidence, for me, is being comfortable in my own skin. I get that confidence from my family — the people in my life who care about me the most – and I would always project that out into the world. But after the melasma hit, it was really hard to go out into the world with that same confidence. Skin Laundry team has helped rebuild that.

When I started getting treatments at Skin Laundry, it was what I needed in terms of somebody holding my hand, week in and week out. The staff were always supportive, telling me to keep it up and that I doing so well. It felt like they were on my team, they were in my corner rooting for me. I walk into all situations feeling hopeful, and after the first few times with my nurse, Janice, I really felt like we had a plan.

The Skin Laundry experts told me it would not be an overnight process and would take a few months to see the results I wanted. I was okay with that because it took me a while to realize that it was melasma that was affecting my skin, so I understood it was going to take some time for it to clear up. I saw results within the first three months. I was happy about that and was encouraged once again to stay on track and keep moving forward. I feel amazing and like I’m getting back to Celina.

During my time at Skin Laundry, I’ve been doing weekly Signature Laser facials and using the Tranexamic Acid Serum at home and those two have been phenomenal for my skin. The Signature Laser Facial is a soothing, warm kind of laser. There’s no pain and no downtime other than staying out of the sun and using sunscreen, which they put on after the treatment.
